3. Using your oil pastels, colour in the different sections. Start with the lightest colour first, and move to the darkest colour. I suggest leaving all of the black until you reach step 5. Remember - you can layer different colours together, or build a colour up by layering the same colour on-top of itself.
4. Blend the colours using a tissue, q-tip, or your fingers.

Sometimes I Feel Like a Fox
1. Join the Wednesday mini meet to listen to the read aloud, or find the posted read aloud on MS Teams.
2. Complete the What Totem Animal Are You brainstorming sheet. Circle the words that you would use to describe yourself. For example, creative, imaginative, patient, kind, cautious, busy.
3. Check with animal box has the most words selected. This is the animal that represents you, and that you will use for this art project. If you do not have one with the most, and instead two or three have the same amount of words selected, you can choose the animal from those equal groupings.

3. On a piece of paper write: Sometimes I feel like a (write the animal that best describes you) because (write why). Try and think of examples to add on after you share the traits that match you and the animal.
Example:
Sometimes I feel like a deer because I am sensitive and loving. My family and friends are very important to me, and I care about their well-being.
4. Have someone take a picture of you and print it in black and white, or sketch an outline of yourself. Think about how you might pose, to help you represent the animal!
5. Using oil pastels draw on your photo or sketch paying close attention to the types of lines you are using to create texture. You are to turn your picture into the animal that matches your brainstorming and writing sheet. You may wish to research images of the animal before beginning, to help inspire your work. Think about accurate colours and features!
6. Submit your work (art and writing) on MS Teams when you are done.
